Taarab music is a vibrant fusion of pre-Islamic Swahili tunes offered in rhythmic poetic style, enriched with Arab-style melodies. It is very in style, particularly amongst girls, and is deeply ingrained in the social lifetime of the Swahili folks along the coastal areas, notably in Zanzibar, Tanga, Mombasa, and Malindi alongside the Kenyan coast.
